Al Pour Issa graduated from Yale University with an M.F.A. in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism in 2011, holds an M.A. in Dramatic Literature, and a B.A. in Scenic Design. He has managerial experience for more than 10 years across industries including theater, film, higher education, and festivals. As the founding executive artistic director of Bridge Theater Ensemble Company, he produced theatrical and film productions and educational programs. His artistic projects were officially selected at 40 international festivals and received 9 international awards in the UK, Austria, and India. He has successfully raised funds for New York City’s Mint Theater’s productions such as Becomes a Woman and The Rat Trap, and Bridge Theater Ensemble’s educational program as well as productions such as Anna in the Tropics, Snail, Unheard Voices, and The Ground Is Breathing as well as Cold Ground. As an educator, he has taught courses in Dramaturgy, Scriptwriting, Directing, and Liberal Arts for 18 years at prominent universities including Rutgers University (Mason Gross School of the Arts), New York Film Academy, Florida Atlantic University, Ringling College, and Pace University. While teaching, he supervised and directed many productions and created numerous public engagement events. As a jury member, he has assessed artistic works at 10 international theater and film festivals, and script competitions in the US, UK, and France.
· Acquired over 10 years of executive and financial management experiences across a variety of industries including theater, film, TV, education, and festivals, resulted in honing the entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary approaches in financing and producing, highlighted by the establishment of partnerships with esteemed organizations such as Farabi Foundation and Molavi Theater during his leadership as an Executive Director at Bridge Theater Ensemble.
· Successfully managed multiple projects with high-volume deliverables, overseeing up to 30 staff members; acted as a liaison between multiple teams with a mindset of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, led to streamlined processes, enhanced efficiency, increased transparency, and the receipt of 9 international awards and official selections at 40 international festivals.
· Developed and executed major fundraising strategies, targeting various funding segments including individuals, foundations, corporations, and government; the dedicated efforts resulted in successful fundraising campaigns.
· Certified in Project Management with Microsoft Project (2019).
· Obtained excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with strong negotiation abilities; these attributes have been demonstrated through active participation in numerous public engagement events, delivery of 10 international conference presentations, and 18 years of tutelage.
